Quarteira: Promenade, Fish Market and Value
Quarteira is a lively, down-to-earth Portuguese seaside town next to upmarket Vilamoura. It has a long beach promenade, a busy fish market and great-value seafood restaurants. It’s a good base if you want resort access without resort prices.
Quick answer: Quarteira is about 25 minutes from Faro airport, right next to Vilamoura. Walk the seafront promenade to Vilamoura’s marina, swim from the long town beach, visit the fish market in the morning, and eat grilled fish by the sea. See places to stay in Quarteira.

- The beach: long and sandy, with breakwaters creating calmer bays.
- The fish market: fresh catches every morning.
