Caminha and Moledo: Where the Minho Meets the Sea
Caminha is a charming small town where the Minho river meets the Atlantic, at Portugal’s northern tip. It has a medieval centre with a clock tower and a fine Gothic church, and nearby Moledo has one of the north’s best beaches, facing the island fort of Ínsua.
Quick answer: Caminha is about 1 hour 15 minutes north of Porto and 25 minutes from Viana do Castelo. Explore the main square and clock tower, visit the Igreja Matriz, walk the riverside, and head to Moledo beach for views of the Ínsua fort. See places to stay in Caminha.
