Viseu: Cathedral City and Dao Wine
Viseu is one of Portugal’s most pleasant cities: a historic granite centre around a hilltop cathedral, leafy squares, an excellent art museum and the Dão wine region all around. It’s often voted one of the best cities to live in Portugal, and it’s a relaxed stop between Porto and Serra da Estrela.
Quick answer: Viseu is about 1.5 hours from Porto. See the cathedral and its square, the Grão Vasco Museum of Renaissance painting, the old town lanes and the Rossio square with its tiles. Taste Dão wines at nearby estates. See places to stay in Viseu.
