Lagos vs Tavira: West or East Algarve?
Lagos and Tavira sit at opposite ends of the Algarve, and they offer two different holidays. Lagos has golden cliffs, coves and a lively scene. Tavira has elegant architecture, calm lagoons and long island beaches with a slower, more traditional pace. Here’s how to choose.
Quick answer: choose Lagos (west) for dramatic cliffs and coves, boat and kayak trips, surfing nearby and nightlife. Choose Tavira (east) for a beautiful historic town, warmer and calmer sea, long sandy island beaches, a quieter pace and easy day trips to Seville.
