The Best Hotels in Albufeira (Every Budget)

By the Travel Portugal Now team · Published 2 October 2026

Albufeira is the Algarve’s busiest resort, with a huge choice of hotels: family all-inclusives with water slides, adults-only escapes on the cliffs, beachfront apartments and simple guesthouses in the old town. Here are the best hotels in Albufeira for every budget and type of holiday.

Quick answer: for families, the all-inclusive Jupiter Albufeira (water slides and kids’ club) or Muthu Clube Praia da Oura. For couples, the adults-only Sol e Mar (right on the beach) or Rocamar (on the cliffs). For a central stay with a rooftop pool, Hotel Indigo. On a budget, Hotel Baltum in the old town. For five-star luxury, see our luxury hotels in Albufeira.

Where to stay in Albufeira

  • Old town: pretty whitewashed streets, Praia dos Pescadores and Penéco beaches, restaurants and bars. Walk everywhere.
  • The Strip (Avenida Sá Carneiro, Montechoro): bars and clubs, lively until late. Great for groups; not for light sleepers.
  • Praia da Oura and Santa Eulália: beaches east of the centre, popular with families.
  • Falésia and Galé: long beaches and quieter resorts a short drive away.

Families

1. Jupiter Albufeira Hotel – Family & Fun (all-inclusive)

A five-star all-inclusive in Montechoro with its own water park and slides, a kids’ club for ages 4–12 and a free shuttle to the beach. The easiest family holiday in Albufeira. Check prices at Jupiter Albufeira

2. Muthu Clube Praia da Oura

Beachfront apartments at Praia da Oura with pools, a kids’ club and kitchens, so you can self-cater. Good value for bigger families. Check prices at Muthu Clube Praia da Oura

Booking tips

  • Check the location carefully: some “Albufeira” hotels are a drive or shuttle ride from the beach or town.
  • The Strip is loud: avoid it if you have young children or want early nights.
  • All-inclusive makes sense with kids; otherwise, Albufeira’s restaurants are great value.
  • Book early for July and August, and look at May, June and September for better prices.
  • From Faro airport: about 35–40 minutes. See Faro airport transfers.
