The Best Tours in Lisbon (2026 Prices)
Lisbon is easy to explore on your own, but a good tour can make the difference between seeing the sights and understanding them, or simply save your legs on those hills. Here are the best tours in and from Lisbon, what they cost in 2026, and which are worth your money.
Quick answer: the best-value tours are a free walking tour on day one (tip €5–15), a tuk-tuk tour for the hills (about €50–80 per vehicle), a food tour (€85–135), a sunset sail on the Tagus and a small-group Sintra day trip (€65–95). Book in advance in summer, and look for free cancellation.

Tours in the city
1. Walking tours
The best way to start a trip. Free walking tours (you tip what you think it’s worth, usually €5–15) cover the Baixa, Chiado or Alfama in 2–3 hours. Paid small-group tours go deeper into specific themes like Alfama’s history or the Jewish quarter. See Lisbon walking tours.
2. Tuk-tuk tours
Lisbon’s hills, without the climb. A private tuk-tuk for 1.5–2 hours costs about €50–80 per vehicle (up to six people), so it’s great value for families. Read our full Lisbon tuk-tuk guide, including the 2025 rules on where they can go.
3. Food tours
Three to four hours of tastings: cheese and charcuterie, petiscos, ginjinha, wine and pastel de nata, with stories about the neighbourhoods. About €85–135. Excellent on your first or second day, so you know what to order for the rest of the trip. See Lisbon food tours.
4. Sunset sailing on the Tagus
Two hours on a sailboat past Belém, the 25 de Abril bridge and the city lights, often with a drink included. One of our favourite things to do in Lisbon, especially for couples. See Lisbon sunset sails.
5. Fado shows
Short concerts from about €35 (often with a glass of port), or a full fado dinner. Read fado in Lisbon to avoid the tourist traps, or see fado shows.
6. Belém tours
A guided walk around the monastery, tower and monuments (about €35–50) explains the Age of Discoveries. Note that entry tickets are often extra: Jerónimos cloister €18 and Belém Tower €15 (reopened in 2026). See Belém tours.
7. Hop-on hop-off bus
About €22 for 24 hours on the Yellow Bus, which also includes Carris trams. Handy if you have limited mobility or little time. See hop-on hop-off tickets. Compare it with the Lisboa Card.
8. Photo tours
A local photographer shows you the best spots at the best light, and takes some photos of you, too. Great for couples. See photo tours or our list of Lisbon’s most Instagrammable spots.
Day trips from Lisbon
9. Sintra and Cascais
The most popular day trip: Pena Palace, Sintra old town, Cabo da Roca and Cascais. Small-group tours cost about €65–95. Read our best Sintra tours guide.
10. Fátima, Nazaré and Óbidos
A big day out covering the pilgrimage site, the giant-wave town and the medieval village, for about €70–95. See tours.
11. Arrábida and Setúbal
Jeep tours through the natural park with a wine tasting in Azeitão (about €85–140), or dolphin watching in the Sado. See Setúbal and Arrábida.
12. Évora and the Alentejo
Roman temple, Chapel of Bones and a winery lunch. See Évora and the Alentejo.

How to choose a good tour
- Read recent reviews (from the last few months) and look at the group size.
- Free cancellation is worth it, as plans and weather change.
- Check what’s included: entry tickets, hotel pickup and food often aren’t.
- Small groups (under 12–15) are much more enjoyable than big coaches.
- Book ahead in summer and for popular slots like sunset sails.
- Prefer a local? See our local guides directory.
