Porto in Autumn: Harvest Season
Autumn is harvest season in northern Portugal, and one of the best times to visit Porto and the Douro. September is still warm, the vineyards are busy with the grape harvest, and by October and November the terraces turn red and gold. Here’s what to expect.
Quick answer: September is warm (around 23 to 25°C) and ideal for the Douro harvest. October is mild with the first rains and autumn colours. November is cooler and wetter, perfect for port cellars, museums and cosy restaurants.
