Porto in Summer: Weather and Things to Do
Summer is Porto’s liveliest season: long sunny days, terraces packed along the river, the wild São João festival in June and beaches just a tram ride away. It’s rarely as hot as Lisbon or the south, thanks to Atlantic breezes. Here’s what to expect from June to August.
Quick answer: expect around 24 to 27°C, with occasional hotter spells and cool, sometimes misty mornings by the sea. Highlights include São João on 23 June, sunset by the river, port tastings and beach afternoons in Foz and Matosinhos. It’s the busiest season, so book ahead.
