Portugal Hiking Itinerary: 2 Weeks on Foot
Portugal is a superb walking destination, and this two-week itinerary combines its best hikes: the Algarve’s clifftop trails, the wild Fishermen’s Trail, Sintra’s forests and Madeira’s spectacular mountains and levadas.
Quick answer: Days 1 to 4: the western Algarve (Seven Hanging Valleys, Ponta da Piedade, Sagres). Days 5 to 7: the Fishermen’s Trail on the Costa Vicentina. Days 8 and 9: Lisbon and Sintra’s forest trails. Days 10 to 14: Madeira (PR1, levadas, PR8). Spring and autumn are best.
