Porto travel guide
Port cellars, tiled churches and the Douro river. 104 guides, written and checked by the team behind our Facebook groups.
Porto rises steeply from the Douro, with the Ribeira waterfront below and the port wine lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia across the Dom Luís I bridge. Most sights are walkable from the centre, though the hills are real, so the metro, the historic trams and the odd taxi help. Two or three days covers the city, with more time for the Douro Valley.
Start with the best things to do in Porto, choose a base with where to stay in Porto and plan your arrival with Porto airport to the city centre. Every Porto guide we have written is below, grouped by topic.
